June 18-July 25: “The Taming of the Shrew.” Directed by Amy Attaway.

July 2-July 26: “Macbeth.” Directed by Matt Wallace.

• All three plays will be performed in repertory July 14-July 26.

July 25: Bard-a-Thon. Kentucky Shakespeare performs all three plays in one day.

July 29-Aug. 2: “The Comedy of Errors” performed by the Globe Players, Kentucky Shakespeare’s student production.

Aug. 4-9: Community Partners Week (other theater companies’ performances).

• “Recent and Relevant Shakespeare” New commissioned work form Theatre[502]

• “Chasing Ophelia” by Doug Schutte of The Bard’s Town Theatre.

• “Late Night Shakes” Improvised Shakespeare by the Louisville Improvisors at 10:30 p.m. June 27, July 11 and 18.

• All evenings include food trucks, an open bar called Will’s Tavern and pre-show entertainment provided by groups from throughout the community.

Producing Artistic Director

Matt is delighted to serve as Kentucky Shakespeare’s Producing Artistic Director since August 2013.  He was an Artistic Associate with the company for nine years (2001-2010), performing in several main stage productions in the park, touring/teaching throughout the state, administrating, and directing in Central Park.  He has served for six years as Artistic Director of Shakespeare Behind Bars, leading and designing multiple programs for the incarcerated and at risk. In 2010, the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency awarded Matt the Volunteer of the Year Award for Outstanding Service and Commitment to the Kentucky Criminal Justice System.  He served as the Director of Children’s Theatre and Audience Development at Derby Dinner Playhouse directing four seasons of the children’s theatre series and creating and managing the Performing Arts Academy, serving over 1,000 students a year.  Matt has directed and performed professionally at Chicago theaters, across the Midwest, and throughout the region for over twenty years.  Film and TV credits include roles in The Perfect Gift, 1 Message, Pieces of Easter, and Forrest Gump.  He holds a BFA in Regional Theatre from the Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis.  Matt met and proposed to his wife Tina Jo on the Central Park stage and they are now the proud parents of 7 and 9 year-old girls.

Robert Silverthorn III

Director of Operations and Marketing

Robert Silverthorn III is a veteran of the marketing and advertising industry.  He operated his own advertising agency for 10 years where he worked with Fortune 500 companies like RCA and General Electric developing marketing strategies for their direct sales forces.  He spent 2 years with Creative Alliance handling Humana, Darden Restaurants, University of Louisville and Einstein Brothers Bagels in a number of different channels from intranet design to franchise development.  Robert then moved on to Louisville Public Media where he developed marketing and branding strategies as well as worked in sales for the three public radio stations in Louisville, KY. Robert has a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Louisville and he holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University – Bloomington in Journalism and Philosophy.

Kyle Ware

Director of Education

Kyle Ware is an actor, educator, artist and writer. He first came to work with Kentucky Shakespeare as an educator and development specialist in 2006; he returned in 2004 as a teaching artist and as part of the company for Kentucky Shakespeare’s 54th season. He served as Executive Director for Tourism Honors Academy, an academic leadership program for high school seniors in Jefferson County, championing a diverse population united by success through adversity. He is Co-Artistic Director of Think Tank Theatre, a collaborative theatre ensemble, and was a Producing Founding Artistic Director of Le Petomane Theatre Ensemble, which concluded its 10-year run in Central Park as a Community Partner in the 2014 summer season. Kyle is a graduate of the University of Louisville, holding degrees in Art, Theatre and English.

Hannah Pruitt

Education Programs Manager

Hannah is loving her return to Kentucky Shakespeare as the Education Programs Manager.  In the past, she has served in the positions of Camp Shakespeare Intern/ Stage Manager for the Globe Players, Assistant Director for the Spring Tour of Julius Caesar, as well as the Arts Education Coordinator.  In addition to her time with Kentucky Shakespeare, she continues her involvement in the arts community at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts as a Ticketing Supervisor in the Box Office.  Hannah hails from the lovely city of Henderson, KY.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a BS in Theatre Arts.
