Kentucky Shakespeare presents the oldest Free Shakespeare Festival in the US.  Founded in 1949, we have become the largest in-school arts education provider in the Commonwealth visiting 75,000 + children each year.  The education department offers 7 primary programs, all of which support and enhance the National Common Core education standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Development, administration, implementation, and operations of all Kentucky Shakespeare Education Programming.
  • Act as community advocate for the advancement of arts education in the region.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee new and innovative education programs.
  • Conduct impact and fiduciary assessments of all education programs.
  • Act as the direct supervisor for the hiring, supervision, and administration of the Education Program Manager and key department staff including but not limited to casting, designers, instructors, resident artists, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to create messaging platforms to expand the importance and growth of theatre education.
  • Remain well versed on state and federal education regulations, core curriculum requirements, etc.
  • Develop, recruit, and maintain collegiate summer internship program.
  • Person should be viewed as an expert in their field in the region as they will lead the largest in-school arts education program in the state.
  • Report directly to the Producing Artistic Director.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Development in all grant applications and reporting.
  • Must have a strict attention to detail, logistics, and creative oversight.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in related field.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for a collaborative work environment
