William Shakespeare created more than 1,700 words. We still use many of these today, including eyeball, luggage, excitement and advertisement.

Shakespeare in the Park

“The audience was a mixture – toddlers in diapers and swimsuits; youngsters who had ridden their bikes to the park; the braless, long-haired set; silver-haired ladies who wore neat, freshly pressed dresses; elderly men who regularly go to the park, lots of families and about a half dozen dogs…”
– Linda Stahl, Courier Journal, July 8, 1971.

Kentucky Shakespeare’s annual Shakespeare in the Park shows offer opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the works of Shakespeare in the beautiful outdoor setting of Old Louisville’s Central Park.
