Intern and Apprentice Information
SUMMER INTERN COMPANY
The company is composed of college students and early career professionals who gain practical experience alongside professional artists and theatre makers. Interns are a part of our entire summer season. We hope the summer internship with Kentucky Shakespeare will help bridge the gap between theatre education and a theatre career.
The intern company is offered training opportunities with local professionals and mentorship within the company, under the direction of the Associate Artistic Director. Interns are provided a small weekly stipend and are responsible for their own housing. Interns will work 6 days a week, including nights and weekends.
Kentucky Shakespeare’s summer season includes our three-play professional season, the Globe Players production, and the community partners’ performances.
Internships are available in the following departments:
HIGH SCHOOL APPRENTICES
Kentucky Shakespeare offers a few apprenticeship opportunities each summer for high school students who are interested in areas of theatre other than performing. Students must be 16 or older and have reliable transportation.
