Zachary Burrell

Zachary Burrell, Lord Byron

Zach has appeared in many of Kentucky Shakespeare’s summer festival shows: roles including Cymbeline (Posthumus), Henry V (Henry V), Henry IV Parts One and Two (Prince Hal), Shakespeare in Love (Lord Wessex), Twelfth Night (Sebastian), Romeo and Juliet (Paris), and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Valentine). He has also appeared in numerous KY Shakes indoor productions, such as The Importance of Being Earnest, Sense and Sensibility, The Woman in Black, Pride and Prejudice, Shakespeare’s R&J, Untimely Ripp’d, Enter Ghost, Turn of the Screw, and Titus Andronicus. He has worked locally with Pandora Productions, StageOne, Derby Dinner Playhouse, and Theatre [502], and toured internationally with Artspot, a Buenos Aires based theatre company. Zach is also a local photographer, and thanks everyone for supporting local theatre.

Sasha Cifuentes

Sasha Cifuentes, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin

Sasha is ecstatic to be joining Kentucky Shakespeare again this fall! She originally hails from Miami, FL where her love for the arts and theatre was cultivated from a young age. Sasha sharpened her craft at the University of Florida where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre-Performance. She is an advocate for language access; she served as the Spanish Language Café facilitator for Louisville’s Office of Immigrant Affairs in partnership with Actors Theatre of Louisville last spring. In Louisville, she has performed with Kentucky Shakespeare, Pandora Productions, and StageOne Family Theatre. Her favorite recent acting credits include Imogen (Cymbeline), Ophelia (Hamlet), Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Evil Tina (She Kills Monsters). She would like to thank her family and friends for their unconditional love and support.

Mollie Murk

Mollie Murk , Claire Clairmont

Mollie is a proud Louisville transplant from Illinois and is grateful to spend another autumn getting spooky at Kentucky Shakespeare! Recent acting credits include Shakespeare & Company’s Macbeth (Macbeth); Wad by Keiko Green at American Lives Theatre; Actors Theatre of Louisville’s King John, The Wolves, Dracula, Dracula: the Radio Play, and Are You There? in the Humana Festival of New American Plays; Kentucky Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Hamlet), The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolen Fairfax), Comedy of Errors (Adriana), Romeo & Juliet (Mercutio), Macbeth (Lady Macbeth), Pride & Prejudice (Lizzy Bennet), and Twelfth Night (Viola); and various productions at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Hope Repertory Theatre, and others. Directing credits include She Kills Monsters with Pandora Productions and As You Like It with three witches shakespeare. Mollie is an alum of Hope College and Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training and a proud member of the Ring of Keys Network.

Nick Wills

Nick Wills, Dr. John Polidori

Nick is a professional stage/film actor, teacher, and musician originally from Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Fayetteville Georgia, attended Troy University for his undergraduate degree, and received his MFA in Theatre Arts from the University of Louisville. He has worked on several TV shows from channels such as Discovery ID, BET, Oxygen and more as well as being featured in various roles in film. This is his fourth year working with Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, but his first Halloween show with the company.

Crystian Wiltshire

Crystian Wiltshire, Percy Bysshe Shelley

Crystian is from Brooklyn, New York, but proud to call Louisville home. With Kentucky Shakespeare, Crystian has played roles such as Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest, Laertes in Hamlet, and Paris in Romeo and Juliet. He has also appeared in Dracula at Actors Theatre of Louisville and Hamlet at StageOne Family Theatre in a co-production with Kentucky Shakespeare. Recently, Crystian directed Kentucky Shakespeare’s 2025 Spring Tour of Macbeth and is entering his fourth year as Co-Facilitator at Shakespeare Behind Bars. Other regional credits include Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Levee), Fences (Cory), and Pride and Prejudice (Mary/Bingley) at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Kill Move Paradise (Tiny) at Know Theatre of Cincinnati, and Matt and Ben (Director) with the Untitled Louisville Theatre Company.

Liza Rash

Liza Rash, understudy: Mary, Claire

Liza is an actor and writer from Fort Mitchell, KY. She is grateful to be involved in her second production with Kentucky Shakespeare this year after the spring tour of Macbeth. She would like to thank the Kentucky Shakespeare community for welcoming her with open arms.

Leonard Peterson III

Leonard Peterson III, understudy: Byron, Polidori, Percy

Leonard is an actor based out of Radcliff, KY. He obtained his BFA in acting from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. This is Leonard’s second stint with Kentucky Shakespeare, and he is excited for the opportunity. Other credits include Macbeth, in which he portrayed Macduff and other characters, The Flick by Annie Baker (Avery) and Next to Normal (Dan). He has also appeared several films, including Blood on the Bleachers, which is available on Prime Video.

Matt Wallace

Matt Wallace, Director/Producing Artistic Director

Matt is in his thirteenth season as Producing Artistic Director of Kentucky Shakespeare, where he has directed productions including Cymbeline, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, The Woman in Black, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Love’s Labor’s Lost, Enter Ghost: an immersive haunted Hamlet experience, Twelfth Night, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare in Love, The Turn of the Screw, Shakespeare in the Parking Lot: Macbeth, Celebrate 60: The Kentucky Shakespeare Festival Anniversary Production, As You Like It, King Lear, The Comedy of Errors, Othello, Titus Andronicus, Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Tempest, Hamlet, and Richard III. Favorite acting credits with the company since 2001 include the Player and Guildenstern in productions of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, and Orlando in As You Like It. Since 2008, Matt has been Director of Shakespeare Behind Bars Kentucky Programs. He directed/facilitated eleven seasons of Shakespeare Behind Bars at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex including Macbeth, The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, Richard III, Much Ado About Nothing, Pericles, Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and King Lear. Previously, he served as an Artistic Associate with Kentucky Shakespeare from 2001-2010, was an actor and Director of Children’s Theatre at Derby Dinner Playhouse, and directed and performed at Chicago theaters and across the Midwest.

Jesse AlFord, Lighting Designer

Jesse is the Lighting Director and Resident Lighting Designer at Louisville Ballet and always enjoys returning to design at Kentucky Shakespeare (especially for the fall spooky shows), where his past designs include Enter Ghost, Woman in Black, Untimely Ripp’d, Macbeth, and more.  He also frequently designs with Cincinnati Ballet, The Kentucky Opera, Stage One Family Theatre, Circus Flora, Pandora Productions, and more. Past collaborators also include Big Apple Circus, The Mary Shelley Electric Company, Louisville Orchestra, The Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis, and others across the country. Working primarily in dance, circus, opera, and theatre, Jesse specializes in the moments and productions that happen in between those disciplines.

Karl Anderson, Set Designer

Karl has worked in Louisville as a freelance scenic designer for over 30 years. He has designed, built, and painted dozens of sets for StageOne Family Theatre, designed numerous sets for Actors Theatre of Louisville, CenterStage, and many seasons for Pandora Productions, Theatre [502], and Bunbury Theatre. He also designed Three Decembers for KY Opera and has been the Scenic Designer for Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park. He graduated from University of Kentucky with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology. Karl is also a Fine Artist represented by Kore Gallery and is married to costumer Allison Anderson. They have two wonderful boys.

Laura Ellis, Sound Designer

Laura is a Peabody Award-winning producer who’s worked in audio since 2004. She’s had the absolute pleasure of designing the last ten summers of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park, and this is her eighth Kentucky Shakespeare show during spooky season. Laura also regularly designs for Pandora Productions and produces audio journalism at Louisville Public Media. She lives with her wife Jonese in South Louisville, where they’re outnumbered by perfect dogs named Barkley, Radar, Lamar, Wendell, and sometimes Spot.

Donna Lawrence-Downs, Costume Designer

Donna has designed the costumes for Kentucky Shakespeare for the last twelve seasons, including all the summer festival productions as well as all spring tours and indoor productions, including The Importance of Being Earnest, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Woman in Black, Enter Ghost, Turn of the Screw, Shakespeare in the Parking Lot: Macbeth, Titus Andronicus, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, Twelfth Night, The War of the Worlds, and Night of the Living Dead. Donna has designed over 400 shows for more than 31 theatres in her 35-year career, including a stint at KSF in the 1990’s, 17 seasons with StageOne Family Theatre, 14 seasons with Music Theatre Louisville, CenterStage, Bellarmine University, Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Opera, and Pandora Productions. One of Donna’s favorite projects is designing costumes for Shakespeare Behind Bars, which she has done for the last 13 years. Donna and her husband also own Life is Sweet Small Batch Treats Bakery.

Sam Powers, Properties

Sam is excited to be returning to Kentucky Shakespeare! He is a Kentucky native who grew up just outside of Louisville. Sam managed props for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival for the past two years as well as for their indoor shows Untimely Ripp’d and The Importance of Being Earnest. He has also worked locally as a props artisan at Actors Theatre of Louisville on Party People, Loving and Loving, Dracula, and Flex.

Joy Lanceta Coronel, Dialect Coach

Joy is a dialect coach, writer, teacher, and theatre artist. New York (selected): What Became of Us, The Great Leap, and Nomad Motel (Atlantic Theatre Company); Among the Dead and Once Upon a (Korean) Time (Ma-Yi Theatre). Justin Jackson, Fight Choreographer

Justin forged his craft in the art of stage combat, earning SAFD certification in 2017. His fight choreography has shaped A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Kentucky Shakespeare), She Kills Monsters (Pandora Productions), and two local Macbeth productions – one with Kentucky Shakespeare’s spring tour and the other with three witches shakespeare. Trained in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Escrima, Justin often weaves his combat experience into his choreography grounding the story in elements of realism to uplift the narrative’s spirit!  When not crafting combat, he draws inspiration from anime and Dungeons & Dragons, ever in pursuit of new tales of hope and courage.

Hannah Pruitt, Intimacy Coordinator

Hannah has been a part of the Kentucky Shakespeare team since 2012 and currently serves as the Director of Creative Engagement and Resident Intimacy Director.  Her last 14 summers have been spent with her favorite Kentucky Shakespeare program, Camp Shakespeare! Hannah completed her training to become a certified Intimacy Director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Inc. and is in her working mentorship program with them.  A recent selection of her work as Intimacy Director with Kentucky Shakespeare includes The Importance of Being Earnest, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, and Cymbeline.  She has also worked with her alma mater, the University of Louisville’s Theatre Department, as the Intimacy Director for Three Oranges, She Kills Monsters, and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  Other ID projects in the community include working with three witches shakespeare, Stage One, Looking for Lilith, Pandora Productions, and This Bridge Theatre. Hannah hails from the lovely city of Henderson, KY.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a BS in Theatre Arts. Emily Burns, Production Stage Manager

Emily is thrilled for her first season as part of the year-round staff at Kentucky Shakespeare! She has been PSM of the summer festival since 2022, and has stage managed Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and The Importance of Being Earnest. Other local credits include work with StageOne, Kentucky Opera, Louisville Ballet, Pandora, and Infinity Productions. She is grateful to be part of such a rich arts community, and thanks Louisville for embracing bold and important work. Emily would like to give a special thanks to her fiancé Nash for always lifting her up and holding her heart with gentle hands.

Rachel Meadors, Assistant Stage Manager

Rachel is a local stage manager, actor, and teaching artist. She is delighted to be returning to work with Kentucky Shakespeare for another fall show! Most recently she worked as Kentucky Shakespeare’s Festival Manager. She also stage managed their 2024 fall show, Untimely Ripp’d, and 2025 spring tour, Macbeth. Other local credits include Much Ado About Nothing (three witches shakespeare, ASM), Over My Dead Body (This Bridge Theatre, SM), The Book Women and Defining Infinity (Looking for Lilith, SM), and As You Like It (three witches shakespeare, Denis/Corin). Rachel would like to thank Kentucky Shakespeare for all the opportunities and her partner Max for being along for the ride.

Victoria Hayden, Sound Engineer

Victoria is glad to be back for another October adventure with Kentucky Shakespeare. She’s done several summers with the company as well as most of the indoor fall productions. She has worked as a sound technician for Actors Theatre of Louisville and many other great local companies. She has also worked in the past with Utah Shakespeare Festival, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and Cumberland County Playhouse. She and her husband Drew have two crazy dogs who believe they are in charge of the house.

Lindsay Krupski, Lighting Supervisor

Lindsay is a freelance lighting designer/electrician, and she is delighted for another spooky show with Kentucky Shakespeare! With KY Shakes, she’s been on the summer lighting team since 2019, and she often works on the “off-season” shows including Untimely Ripp’d, The Woman in Black, Enter Ghost., Shakespeare’s R&J, Henry VI: The Wars of the Roses, The Turn of the Screw, and Shakespeare in the Parking Lot: Macbeth. Since moving to Louisville 7 years ago, she has designed with many local theatre and dance companies. Lindsay grew up in Wisconsin and holds a B.F.A. from UW-Milwaukee. In her free time, Lindsay loves crocheting, listening to Taylor Swift, and watching every trashy reality show.

Mavrick Cook, Carpenter

Mavrick is a recent graduate from the University of Louisville, majoring in Theatre Arts with a Minor in Film. Throughout his career at the University of Louisville, Maverick has made it his goal to learn all theatre departments to gain more of an understanding of their roles as he seeks to become a technical director. On his journey in the world of theatre, Maverick has developed many technical skills in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Twinmotion and many other programs outside of the typical drafting sites. His mission is to bring people’s visions to fruition as he dedicates his time to creating immersive worlds on stage.
