Sydney Lofton joined the Kentucky Shakespeare team in 2022 as an Artist Educator after graduating from Belmont University with a BFA in Theatre Performance. Prior to working at Kentucky Shakespeare, Sydney was an education intern at Nashville Children’s Theatre, a member of the Belmont Repertory Company, and a founding member of Little Thistle Theatre Co. in Nashville, TN. 

Sydney is a Consent Forward Artist with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, and continues her training as an Intimacy Director. As an educator, she aims to create an environment where her students are empowered to challenge themselves.

Sydney holds Actor Combatant status through the Society of American Fight Directors. She was first introduced to stage combat through an educational Shakespeare program and is now excited to bring more arts experiences to young people in the region.
