Hannah Pruitt, Director of Creative Engagement

Hannah (she/her) has been a part of the Kentucky Shakespeare team since 2012 and has served as the Camp Shakespeare Intern/Stage Manager for the Globe Players, Assistant Director for the Spring Tours of Julius Caesar, Macbeth, and Romeo & Juliet, Arts Education Coordinator, and Education Programs Manager.  She has led her favorite Kentucky Shakespeare program, Camp Shakespeare, for 12 wonderful summers.

In 2021, she became the Director of Creative Engagement and trains our Artist Educators, creates curriculum for workshops and residencies, cultivates relationships with schools, community partners, and arts education advocates, and most recently, she created our newest Kentucky Shakespeare workshop, Voices of Young Women, that was selected as a grant recipient of the Kentucky Foundation for Women.  She serves as a member of the Cultural Consortium and a member of the Education Committee for the Shakespeare Theatre Association.  She is certified by the National Council for Mental Well-being in Mental Health First Aid for both Adults and Youth.

Hannah has completed her training to become a certified Intimacy Director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Inc. and is in her working mentorship program with them.  She is proud to be a Consent Forward Artist with Kentucky Shakespeare and other community groups.  As the Resident Intimacy Director with the company, she has served as the Intimacy Director on Shakespeare’s R&J, Twelfth Night, Pride and Prejudice, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sense & Sensibility, and is currently working on the Midsummer Spring Tour.  She has also worked with her alma mater, the University of Louisville’s Theatre Department, as the Intimacy Director for She Kills Monsters and the Intimacy Consultant for 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  Her current projects in the community include working with three witches shakespeare on their productions of As You Like It and Gallathea.

Hannah hails from the lovely city of Henderson, KY.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a BS in Theatre Arts.
